Prices and Booking

How much does carpet cleaning cost in Stratford?

Ontario homeowners are often quoted around $75 to $150 per room, or $250 to $500 for three or four rooms, according to price ranges listed on HomeStars. Stairs, heavy soiling and spot treatment add to that. We give you the price after a walk-through, before we start.

Can you clean before I move out?

Yes. Move-out cleans are common, for tenants hoping to get a deposit back and for owners getting a house ready to sell or rent. An empty home is quicker to clean, so book after the furniture has gone if you can.

Are you insured and certified?

Yes. We're fully insured, and our technicians are IICRC certified (the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification sets the main training standards for carpet and upholstery cleaning). Ask when you book and we'll send proof of insurance.

Drying and Aftercare

How long does carpet take to dry?

Typically 6 to 12 hours after hot water extraction. Thick pile, cool basements and humid summer days can stretch that toward 24 hours. Running fans, the furnace fan or air conditioning speeds things up.

When can I put the furniture back?

Once the carpet is completely dry. Until then, leave the blocks or foil tabs under the legs. They stop wood stain and metal from marking damp carpet.

Will my carpet get dirty faster after cleaning?

It shouldn't. Carpet re-soils quickly when shampoo or detergent is left in it, because the residue is sticky. That's why we rinse with clear water after washing.

Methods

Is steam cleaning better than dry cleaning?

For a deep clean, usually yes. Hot water extraction washes the full depth of the carpet and rinses it. Low-moisture "dry" methods dry faster but mostly clean the top of the pile. They suit light upkeep between deep cleans.

How often should carpets be cleaned?

For most homes, about once every 12 to 18 months. Homes with pets, young children or allergy sufferers may want it more often. Many carpet manufacturers also expect periodic professional cleaning to keep the warranty valid, so check your warranty paperwork.

Is the cleaning solution safe for kids and pets?

Once the carpet is dry, it's fine for kids and pets to be on it. Keep them off while it's damp so nobody tracks solution around or puts damp fibres in their mouth.

Pets, Rugs and Furniture

Can you get pet urine smell out?

Often, yes. We find the spots with a UV light, treat them with an enzyme and extract from below the surface. Urine that has soaked deep into the pad or subfloor over a long time may not come out completely, and we'll tell you if we think that's the case.

Do I need to move furniture first?

Please clear small items, breakables, toys and anything on the floor. We move most chairs, tables and light furniture ourselves. Very heavy pieces like pianos, full bookcases and entertainment units usually stay put, and we clean around them.

Do you clean area rugs in my home or take them away?

Most rugs are cleaned right in your home. Very large, antique, silk or heavily soiled rugs may be better off with a specialist rug washing service. Ask when you book and we'll tell you honestly.

Do you clean stairs?

Yes. Stairs are cleaned by hand with a smaller tool, so they take longer than a room and are usually priced as an extra.
